A methanol reforming fuel cell is a battery that uses methanol as fuel, converts methanol into hydrogen through a reforming reaction, and then reacts hydrogen with oxygen to generate electricity. Its reaction formula is:
CH3OH + H2O → CO2 + 3H2
2H2 + O2 → 2H2O + energy
Methanol reforming fuel cells have the advantages of high efficiency, low pollution, and easy storage and transportation, so they are widely used in drones, automobiles, ships and other fields. Compared with traditional fuel cells, methanol reforming fuel cells have higher energy density and longer service life. At the same time, methanol can be directly used as fuel without hydrogen storage and delivery, thereby reducing costs and safety risks.
