Ternary lithium battery refers to the lithium battery with positive electrode of the transition metal embedded lithium oxide conforming to the material containing three elements of nickel, cobalt and manganese, which can be expressed as limnxniyco1-x-yo2 (0<x<0.5,0<y<0.5). This material combines the advantages of lithium cobalt oxide, lithium nickelate and lithium manganate to form a three phase eutectic system. The weight energy density can reach 200Wh/kg. The lithium-nickel-manganese-cobalt-oxide (NMC) battery has a cathode that contains 10-20% cobalt.
