It is insoluble in water and cannot dissociate into ions. It has two most basic properties: (1) it can selectively adsorb on the surface of minerals; (2) it can increase the hydrophobicity of the mineral surface, making it easy to adhere to bubbles. According to the structure of non-polar oil collectors, they can be divided into three categories: aliphatic hydrocarbons, alicyclic hydrocarbons and aromatic hydrocarbons.
