

Bone conduction is a way of sound transmission, that is, sound is transformed into mechanical vibration of different frequencies, and sound waves are transmitted through human skull, bone labyrinth, inner ear lymph, spiral organ and auditory center.
Compared with the classical sound transmission mode that generates sound waves through the diaphragm, bone transmission eliminates many steps of sound wave transmission, and can achieve clear sound restoration in noisy environments. Besides, sound waves will not affect others because of their diffusion in the air. Bone conduction technology is divided into bone conduction loudspeaker technology and bone conduction microphone technology:
(1) Bone conduction loudspeaker technology is used for voice transmission, which means listening to sound. The pneumatic loudspeaker converts electrical signals into sound waves (vibration signals) and transmits them to the auditory nerve. The bone conduction loudspeaker is the sound wave (vibration signal) converted by the electrical signal directly transmitted to the auditory nerve through the bone. The transmission medium of sound wave (vibration signal) is different.
(2) The bone conduction microphone technology is used for receiving calls, which means collecting sound. Air conduction means that sound waves pass through the air to the microphone, while bone conduction means that sound waves pass directly through the bone.
The earphones made with these bone conduction technologies are called bone conduction earphones, also known as bone conduction earphones, bone sense earphones, bone transmission earphones and bone sensing earphones.
