EGR, or Exhaust Gas Recirculation, is an emission control technology for gasoline engines. It reduces harmful substances emitted by the engine by reintroducing a portion of the exhaust gas into the engine's intake system to reduce the production of nitrogen oxides (NOx). EGR systems usually include an EGR valve and corresponding pipes to control the flow of exhaust gases. When the engine is running, the EGR valve will adjust the flow of exhaust gas according to the vehicle's operating conditions and engine operating status, and introduce a certain proportion of exhaust gas into the intake passage. These exhaust gases contain burned air and fuel residues that enter the combustion chamber through mixing, reducing the combustion temperature and oxygen content, thereby reducing the generation of NOx.
